How Catalog Ads attribution works
Attribution decides which orders Rokt credits to your Catalog Ads campaigns. The window depends on the campaign type and, for Rokt Network Ads, on the window you choose.
| Campaign type | Attribution window |
|---|---|
| Rokt Network Ads | 7-day click, or 7-day click + 1-day view. |
| Shoppable Ads | 1-day click. The conversion happens directly in the placement. |

New campaigns you create in Catalog for Brands use 7-day click by default. An order counts toward your campaign when the shopper clicked your ad in the 7 days before buying. You can choose 7-day click + 1-day view instead. With that window, an order also counts when the shopper saw your ad, without clicking it, within 1 day before buying.
On Shopify, Rokt attributes these sales on its servers, from your Shopify orders. With the Rokt Network Extension app installed, Shopify sends Rokt each order. Rokt builds the conversion from the order and matches it to your Rokt ad. It uses the Rokt click ID on the order when there is one. Otherwise, it matches on the order's email, phone, or name plus billing ZIP code.
The Rokt Pixel on your Shopify store collects browsing and checkout activity to build your audiences. It does not send the attributed conversion. If a shopper declines cookies, browser tracking stops. Rokt can still attribute their order from the order details Shopify sends.
Rokt does not tag these orders in Shopify: attributed orders and performance are reported in your Rokt dashboard.

The shopper buys inside the placement, so the sale is attributed at checkout. The order is pushed directly into your Shopify system with full customer data.
Each transaction attributes once: Shoppable conversions attribute at on-network checkout, and Rokt Network Ads conversions attribute from your Shopify order.
