Rokt Ads integration

Before you launch campaigns on Rokt Ads, there are two integrations to put in place. Together they give Rokt the two signals it needs to perform: the input signal that tells Rokt who to or not to target, and the feedback signal that tells Rokt what happened so it can optimize.

Audience dataDirect link to Audience data

Rokt uses various audience types in order to make sure that the correct users are targeted from day one.

  • Provide a suppression list so that Rokt excludes those users when targeting customers for your ads campaigns.
  • A seed list allows Rokt to model and target customers that are similar to your highest intent or most valuable cohort of users.
  • Retargeting audiences allow Rokt to target those users who have shown intent but have abandoned your site.

There are other lists that Rokt can use to drive success for your campaigns; however, these three are the most critical.

Set up audience data

Provide suppression, seed and retargeting audiences through the method that fits your stack: Audience API, custom audience upload, SFTP, or a customer data platform.

Conversion trackingDirect link to Conversion tracking

Close the loop by configuring conversion tracking, so Rokt can connect ad engagements to real business outcomes. Every conversion you report teaches the Rokt Brain which customers and contexts lead to success, so it can shift targeting and bidding toward higher-propensity customers. For the best results, send all conversions without pre-filtering, deliver them as close to real time as you can, and include a number of persistent identifiers such as email. Where possible, pair a client-side method (SDK+ or tag manager) with a server-side method (Events API) to capture the most conversions.

Each integration provides a different, necessary signal. Audience data tells Rokt who the campaign should target, and is what Rokt models your ideal customers from. Closing the loop tells Rokt what happened after customers saw or engaged with your ad. Together they give Rokt the input signal for targeting and the feedback signal for attribution and optimization, which is what lets the Rokt Brain find your next best customers and continuously improve performance.
