Rokt Catalog object hierarchy
Rokt Catalog connects ecommerce brands with retail marketplaces (Partners) to enable product syndication and automated, cross-platform sales. Product data moves through Rokt Catalog from catalog ingestion and partnership negotiation to joint order management and fulfillment. The objects on this page are the building blocks of that flow, for both Brands and Partners.
Brand, Partner, and Proposal are defined in the Rokt Catalog Glossary of Terms. This page shows how they relate to the other objects.
| Object | What it is |
|---|---|
| Brand Network | The full list of Brands onboarded to Rokt Catalog. A Brand can be opted into the network or out of it. A Brand is opted in when it has made its profile public in Discover. |
| Network Catalog | The superset of all available products from all Brands in the Rokt Catalog network. The Network Catalog aggregates every product that can be sold or discovered across all integrated Brands and Partners. |
| Brand Catalog | The set of products uploaded to Rokt Catalog from one Brand's system. This is not necessarily every product the Brand sells. The Brand chooses which products to list on Rokt Catalog and which of those to make discoverable. |
| Brand | See Brand in the glossary. Other names for a Brand are Seller, Supplier, and Provider, or Advertiser in ads-integrated experiences. |
| Partner | See Partner in the glossary. Other names for a Partner are Storefront, Retailer, Shopkeep, and Marketplace. |
| Proposal | See Proposal in the glossary. Once accepted, a proposal is the source of truth for the commission split and shipping arrangement agreed for its products. A Partner can send a proposal for any product a Brand has marked discoverable. |
| Product | A single item from a Brand Catalog that can be listed, discovered, and sold through Rokt Catalog. Rokt Catalog helps Partners expand their online assortments with products from third-party Brands. Product listings are pulled directly from a Brand's ecommerce backend. When Brands upload their products, Rokt Catalog syncs the imagery, descriptions, and variant details. Once uploaded, products can be made discoverable by Brands in the Rokt Catalog network, included in proposals, and sold by Partners. |
| Variant | An instance of a product with all its available customizations filled in. For example, if the product is "shirt", a variant might be "small red shirt". A variant often maps to a single SKU or UPC. A UPC (Universal Product Code) is a standardized barcode and 12-digit number used to identify products in retail. The UPC is one of the most important attributes of a product. It is the core identifier for accurate product matching, especially with larger Partners that might sell the same UPC from several Brands. |
| Order | A customer's purchase from a Partner of a specific variant listed by a Brand. The order connects the details of the sale between the Partner's system and the Brand's system. |
