Rokt provides a few different ways for advertisers to access referral data, and we can accommodate the one that makes the most sense for you and your business. Options include direct integration with MailChimp and custom audience import) as well as real-time API, CSV via email, or secure file transfer. Read on for more information about each.

Real-time API

An application programming interface (API) is a set of requirements that governs how one application can talk to another. In other words, an API allows Rokt to integrate with your customer relationship management (CRM) tool.

Advertisers that have an existing API, want to get referrals in real-time, and have technical support available should consider integrating with Rokt platform using this method.

Scheduled deliveries

Rokt can schedule referral deliveries to be sent in batches at regular intervals that suit you and your business. We support two types of methods: email and File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

We provide a large number of fields for each customer that opts in to your campaigns so that you know who is engaging with your campaigns and what they were doing on the partner site they engaged with. This can help you optimize your campaign for each audience.

You can also create custom fields to if you would prefer to receive data in another format (e.g., "Male’"instead of "M"). Learn more about creating custom fields.

Only new referrals generated since the last send are sent to ensure you never receive duplicates.

This type of task will routinely send an email to selected approved recipients with all of the new referral data. This can be created from the Integrations > Connections > Add Connections > Data > Tasks > Scheduled Tasks section of One Platform. Each task can be assigned to an individual campaign or all campaigns under an account, and you can select what data should be include, whom it should go to, and when the email should send.

File Transfer Protocol

FTP is a network protocol that provides access, file transfer, and file management functionalities. In other words, FTP allows Rokt to sent or receive files over a secure channel.

Note: As a security measure, we will soon remove support for FTP, and will continue to support file transfers via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and FTPS.

Manual export

All of your data is always accessible on the Rokt platform by navigating to Campaigns > Customer Data > Referrals > Export. This is useful for when you would like to look at all of your referrals over a certain timeframe, or if you think you’ve missed something.

If something did go wrong, such as an API failing or an email getting accidentally deleted, don’t worry! You can always log in to Rokt and download all of the customers you’ve acquired through your campaigns.
