Getting paid as a Brand
This article explains how payments work when you sell products through Rokt Catalog as a Brand, including payment cadence, how payouts are calculated, and how taxes are handled.
Payment overviewLien direct vers Payment overview
When a customer places an order on a Partner's store, the Partner collects payment directly from the customer. Catalog then calculates your payout (the product MSRP minus the Partner's commission and any applicable Catalog fees) and pushes it to your linked Stripe account on your regular payment cadence. The Partner retains their commission and any taxes collected; none of that passes through to you.
Payment cadenceLien direct vers Payment cadence
Orders are eligible for payment once they have been fulfilled. As a Brand, you receive payment for your orders from Catalog based on your payment cadence, which you can view on the Payouts page under Reports in the left navigation. This payment is then pushed to your linked bank account via Stripe. Timing of deposits varies depending on your bank but can take up to a week before you see the funds in your account.
A Stripe Express account is required for all Brands using banks outside of the US.
Payment calculationLien direct vers Payment calculation
Your payment is calculated using the formula below.
Payment amount = (MSRP) - (Partner Commission) - (Catalog Fees)
- MSRP: The product list price.
- Partner Commission: The agreed-upon earnings for each order.
- Catalog Fees: A combination of up to three components, depending on your account type. See the breakdown below.
Catalog fee componentsLien direct vers Catalog fee components
Catalog Fees are made up of up to three components. Which fees apply to you depends on your account type.
| Fee | Rate | Applies to | Refundable on returns? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace Transaction Fee | 1% | All orders, including returned orders | No |
| Continuous ProductAI Management | 2% | Fulfilled orders only; not applied to returned orders | Yes, within the refund eligibility window |
| BD Referral Fee | 2% | Rokt-sourced and managed accounts only; not applied to returned orders | Yes, within the refund eligibility window |
Most Brands fall into one of two standard fee tiers:
- Self-serve brands are charged the Marketplace Transaction Fee and Continuous ProductAI Management: 3% total.
- Managed and Rokt-sourced brands are charged all three components: 5% total.
These are your standard rates. If you also run Catalog Ads, your total Marketplace fee may be capped below your standard rate. See Marketplace fee caps below.
Pricing varies by relationship. The tiers above reflect standard arrangements. Your individual agreement with Rokt Catalog may include different rates or a custom fee structure. You can always check the fees associated with your Catalog usage on your individual partnership page.
Marketplace fee capsLien direct vers Marketplace fee caps
If you run Catalog Ads, your Marketplace fees are capped based on how much ads activity you were billed for in the previous calendar month. The more you invest in Catalog Ads, the lower your cap.
Your cap is set by your average daily billed ads activity: the total ads activity you were billed for last calendar month, divided by the number of days in that month.
| Average daily billed ads activity | Marketplace fee cap |
|---|---|
| No billed ads activity | No cap — your standard rate applies |
| Under $200 per day | 3% |
| $200–$499 per day | 1.5% |
| $500 or more per day | 0.4% |
A cap is a ceiling, not a flat rate. Your Catalog Fees are calculated from the components in the table above, and if that total lands above your cap, you are charged the cap instead.
For example, a managed brand with a standard rate of 5% who averaged $300 per day in billed ads activity last month is charged 1.5% on Marketplace orders this month.
Caps refresh monthly. Your cap is recalculated on the first of each month using the previous calendar month's billed ads activity, and it applies to Marketplace orders for the whole of that month. Your cap can move up as well as down as your ads activity changes.
Fee caps apply to Catalog Fees only. Payment processing fees are charged separately and are not capped.

A payment processing fee is applied to each payout: 0.8% per transaction for ACH, or 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for credit card.

The Partner captures all taxes paid on orders because they are the merchant of record. No taxes are passed on to you as the Brand. We recommend requesting a Resale Certificate from your Partners.
