Transaction export overview

There are a few ways for you to review your transaction data. We can accommodate the one that makes the most sense for you and your business. The most common methods are via real-time API or secure file transfer. Read on for more information about each.

Based on the data you have integrated with the Rokt SDK, Rokt can provide a variety of metadata in your transaction exports. Whatever the method of delivery, you can choose what attributes to include.

Real-time API#

An API is a set of requirements that governs how one application can talk to another. In this case, an API allows Rokt to automatically integrate data with your CRM.

Partners that have an existing API and technical support to help with the integration should consider using APIs to get their data in real time.

Scheduled deliveries#

Rokt can schedule data deliveries to be sent in batches at regular intervals that suit you and your business. We support these scheduled sends via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).

You can choose what metadata about the customer, offer, and transaction to include in your batches. This information can help you optimize your site for different audiences.

You can also create custom fields to include in your batch files. Learn more about creating custom fields.

Only new transactions generated since the last send are included so you don't have to worry about duplicates.

As a security measure, we will soon remove support for FTP, and will continue to support data access via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) and FTPS.

Manual export#

All of your data is always accessible on the Rokt platform by going to Transactions > Customer Data > Export. This is useful for when you would like to look at all of your transaction data over a certain timeframe, or if you think you’ve missed something.

If something does go wrong, such as an API failure or an email being deleted, don’t worry! You can always log in to Rokt and download all of your transaction data at any time.
