Brand Overview

Brands in the Rokt Catalog offer products or services within Shoppable Ads placements. As a brand, you are the Merchant of Record (MoR) on every transaction - you own the charge, the customer relationship, and fulfillment.

Rokt handles offer presentation, payment processing orchestration, and customer data collection. Your primary responsibilities are product configuration, order fulfillment, and brand onboarding.

There are two payment architectures for brands in the Rokt Catalog:

ArchitectureWhen to useHow it works
Stripe ConnectDefault for card-based payments. Used when a customer pays via card forwarding, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.Rokt processes the charge via Stripe Connect with the brand as a connected account. The brand is the MoR and appears on the customer's credit card statement.
PayPal MultipartyUsed when a customer pays via PayPal. Also used for brands that prefer PayPal-based settlement.Rokt processes the PayPal order via PayPal Multiparty Payments. Funds are disbursed directly to the brand's PayPal merchant account. The brand is the MoR.

Brand onboardingBrand onboarding への直接リンク

Brands must complete onboarding before they can receive payments through Shoppable Ads:

  • Stripe Connect onboarding: Brands are onboarded as connected accounts on Rokt's Stripe Connect platform. Rokt provides a self-service onboarding link. Once connected, card payments and Apple Pay/Google Pay transactions are automatically routed to the brand's connected account.
  • PayPal Multiparty onboarding: Brands are onboarded via PayPal's Partner Referrals API. Rokt generates a referral link. The brand clicks the link, logs into (or creates) their PayPal business account, and grants Rokt the required permissions. Once connected, PayPal transactions are disbursed directly to the brand.

Product configurationProduct configuration への直接リンク

Brands work with Rokt to define and configure the products offered to customers:

  • Product definitions: Define each product with descriptions, pricing, terms, and eligibility rules.
  • Variant configuration: Configure variants per product (e.g., coverage tiers, plan durations, sizes). Each variant has its own pricing and eligibility criteria.
  • Creative assets: Provide product imagery, brand guidelines, legal disclaimers, and terms & conditions.

Order fulfillmentOrder fulfillment への直接リンク

When a customer completes a purchase, Rokt sends the order details to your order creation API. You are responsible for:

  • Order API: Provide Rokt with an API endpoint to create orders. The API should accept customer details, product/variant selected, and payment confirmation.
  • Confirmation: Send a confirmation email to the customer with order details.
  • Refund/cancellation: Define the refund and cancellation policy. Provide a cancellation API endpoint.

For post-purchase offers, the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA) requires:

  • Clear disclosure of all material terms before the customer consents.
  • Express informed consent - the customer must actively confirm the transaction.
  • Payment method transparency - show which card or payment method will be charged.
  • Option to change payment method (e.g., switch from saved card to Apple Pay or PayPal).
  • Simple cancellation mechanism.
