Creative Creation

An offer creative (or "creative," for short) is what is actually shown to consumers on the Rokt network. An offer creative consists of the offer copy, the call-to-actions, the destination URL, and the image (if/when the offer is shown in a placement that supports it).

Creative Creation Example of a Rokt offer being rendered on a partner website.

Creatives belong to a specific campaign. In order to author a new creative, you will need to select which campaign the new creative will belong to.

  1. On the Campaign Overview page, click on the campaign card that the new creative will belong to.

    Creative Creation

  2. On the Campaign Details page, click on the "Referral creatives" tab.

    Creative Creation

  3. Click on the "Add Creative" button. The creative wizard will appear.

    Creative Creation

  4. Enter the name of your creative and select the format that you want to target. Each format renders the content of the creative in a different layout, which is represented by a corresponding illustration. For the maximum reach, select all formats.

  • Block and Tile formats only show one single positive CTA (e.g., "Yes please") and no negative CTA (e.g., "No, thank you"). Only Standard formats show a negative CTA and only Standard formats can show more than one positive CTA.
  • Uploading an image is required for Tile formats. It's only optional for Standard and Block formats.

Creative Creation

  1. Enter a title and creative copy.
  • The Title is optional if you target Standard placements only but is required if you select Block and/or Tile as well.

  • Without Title, you're allowed to enter up to 175 characters in the copy. If you enter a Title, you're allowed to enter up to 125 characters only. The counter in the bottom right hand corner of the window will automatically count characters.

    Creative Creation

  1. Edit Call-To-Actions (optional). You can change the copy for both the positive and the negative CTA. If you target Standard placements only, and if your campaign is not a Phone Leads campaign, you can add up to two additional positive CTAs by clicking on “Add another response.” Note that the copy needs to different.

    Creative Creation

  2. For some campaign objectives, you'll need to supply a destination URL for the positive response.

  3. In addition, if the creative is going to be targeting a non-prime position (e.g., not the first offer in the placement), you can upload a logo. Select "Yes" and click on “Upload Logo.” Upload the logo from your computer.

  4. [May not apply to all offer creative] Supply brand domains contained in the offer creative. Some offers will contain third party brands. For example, in the offer “Make a purchase of at least $100 on Kogan, and get a $20 iTunes Gift Card”, the brand domains are apple.com and itunes.com but not kogan.com. Some partners want to exclude offers that contain competing brands.

  5. Click "next" and link audiences. Linking the creative to an audience at this stage is optional. You can save the creative and will be able to link audiences from the Campaign Details page. But for the creative to be able to be live, eventually it will need to be linked to at least one audience.

    Creative Creation

  6. Hit “Save” to save the new creative. The creative wizard will close, and the new creative will appear on the campaign details page.

    Creative Creation

Important Note: A new creative is inactive until it has been linked to an audience and approved by the Rokt Operations team.
