Campaign FAQs
Before we dive into questions on campaigns, let's take a step back and look at the bigger picture here and ensure you understand what Rokt is.
Rokt is a transaction marketing platform and network that sits on other e-commerce sites, displaying advertising to consumers who have just completed a transaction online. Rokt advertising is interactive, in the sense that advertisers can have consumers sign up to ongoing email communications be led to a website for example. We call these "referrals".
Great. Let's get to it!
Creatives
Q: What is a 'creative'?
A: A creative is an offer that you present to consumers. It includes the ad copy (the message), the responses (the actions that the consumer can take, including at least one positive and one negative). Depending on the type of campaign that you're running and the placements, it can also include additional settings such as a destination URL for Traffic campaigns.
Q: How do I set up a new creative?
A: First of all, make sure that you have an account with Rokt by creating an account on https://my.rokt.com/authentication/signup. From there, to create a new campaign and creative, please follow the procedure in the articles Acquire Campaign Creation and Creative Creation.
Q: What are the types of offers that I can create?
A: There are 7 types of offers that you can create:
- Promotion: email a special offer to consumers
- App installs: drive consumers to download a mobile app
- Email subscriptions: subscribe consumers to an email list
- Website traffic: drive customer to a page
- Website traffic & Email subscriptions: drive consumers to a page and to subscribe to an email list
- Phone leads: obtain phone leads from consumers interested in a product or service
- Calendar subscriptions: drive consumers to subscribe to a calendar or event
Q: Can I make changes to a creative or email after it has been created?
A: Each creative you create is captured for your record keeping purposes. This means you can’t ‘edit’ a creative - you need to create a new one each time. If you are changing the creative copy or email text, you’ll need to create a new creative or email with your desired copy. You can elect to archive old creatives if you wish.
Q: Why can't I just make changes to a creative or email?
A: This is to keep a record of what was used before and thus able to optimize the campaigns later on.
Q: I've created my creatives. Why haven't they gone live immediately?
A: All creatives require approval, which should happen within 6 hours of submitting them. Once approved, they will go live.
Settings
Q: What does the 'country' setting in the 'campaign settings' screen mean?
A: The country settings at the campaign level exposes different location targeting options for each audience under those campaigns. It also allows the country-targeted campaigns to bid in the local currency.
Q: Why is my 'country' setting at the campaign level automatically selected?
A: When creating a new campaign, the system automatically uses the country of the Account as a default. If this default does not apply to your desired GEO-targeting simply update the country.
Q: Can I change the 'country' setting in the 'campaign settings' screen once the campaign has been set up?
A: No. Once a campaign is created, you will not be able to change the country. If you wish to set it to another country, you can create a new campaign and set the country to the one you desired.
Q: My campaign has a daily referral limit of 10. Why did I receive 12 referrals today?
A: The Rokt system is hosted on multiple servers which may have a slight delay in communicating with each other - varying from 2 seconds to over a minute. As such, the widget may generate positive referrals at the same time. This can result in delivering referrals slightly over the cap.
Billing
Q: Where do I see financial information in the billing section?
A: Search for the account name on the left side of the top navigation bar, click on it and then click on Billing. You will be directed to the billing page. This is where financial information of your account is displayed and they include:
- Transactions
- Marketing Orders
- Invoices
- Credit Notes

A: You can target nationwide and target one or multiple region / state / ZIP.
Q: What is 'Custom ZIP Code List'?
A: You can add in the specific ZIP codes according to your preferences. You can add in multiple ZIP codes, separated by commas.
